VIA Rail received a notification from CN allowing a resumption of service in Southwestern Ontario.

Beginning Thursday morning, February 20, all trains running between Toronto-London-Windsor, Toronto-Sarnia and Toronto-Niagara?will resume service. For operational and safety reasons, please note that trains may encounter certain delays.

?

Furthermore, between Québec City-Montréal-Ottawa, partial service will resume during weekdays and full service will be offered during weekends.

CANCELLATIONS
Since all other VIA Rail services are not operating until further notice, with the exception of Sudbury-White River (CP Rail) and Churchill-The Pas (Hudson Bay Railway), VIA Rail has cancelled all affected departures until the end of the day on Thursday, February 20, and all customers will be receiving a cancellation notice.

VIA Rail is providing full refunds for all cancelled trips.

In order to allow be able to help as many customers as possible, we respectfully request that you contact our VIA Customer Center only in cases of immediate urgency, at 1-888-VIA-RAIL (1-888 842-7245), TTY 800-268-9503 (deaf or hard of hearing).

We understand the impact this unfortunate situation has on our passengers and regret the significant inconvenience this is causing to their travel.

With the partial resumption of services between Québec City and Ottawa, reservations for train services on Thursday and Friday (February 20 and 21)?that remain suspended will be transferred to trains that are now operating.?Passengers will be advised accordingly:
